• Hi, my friends, so we are, you and I, in the final chapter of our travel. After the visit of the Mojave Desert that I described in my previous article, my two friends and I, decided to sleep in Barstow, in a little but very nice hotel.

Then, the following morning, we were ready to finish the great adventure. In the car, I remembered the first day in this legendary route 66, we were only young men in search of freedom, and discoveries.

I took, in my bag, my camera, and there were photos of each moment in the route. I recalled every feelings, every landscapes, every places, from chicago to L.A, from the cadillac ranch to the petrifried forest. I was amazed by the beauty of nature, I was afraid of the heights of the Grand Canyon, I was surprised by everything, everything in this route in unique.

    The End of the Path

So, we arrived in Los Angeles after 3 hours, it was time, we were so tired, but we did it ! We were in the last city of the road. After eating, we went to the final place : the Santa Monica Pier, it’s « the end of the trail »

  • Hi, welcome for the continuation of the story, so, after three weeks *in the road, we arrived in front of the Mojave Desert. At first I was afraid, why ? Because it’s a desert, I didn’t want to go inside. But my friends *take me and I was obliged to go with them. Finally, I loved it, and I think it was my most memorable moment, even if it was very hot, I had fun.

We took a guide, and we walked hours and hours, we drank water regularly to avoid dehydration. So, we were tired but it was amazing, the vastness of the landscape *is really beautiful. We understood that we *are nothing in this place, Nature is the only king and master. So I think that the Mojave Desert is essential if you go on the route 66, I warmly recommend it to you

  • Today, we are going to the famous Grand Canyon!

Finally, the dream come true. There it is, * Grand Canyon, it was here in front of us.

We were so excited, it was our first time we saw it. The sky was blue and it was a little warm. The landscapes were splendid, there *was a lot of reliefs, with a beautiful color gradation on the rock.

We chose to take the helicopter to see it from the sky, from there, we had an incredible sight on the heights of Grand Canyon, it was so beautiful, but we were so high that my friend Alexendre had vertigo.

The helicopter tour was a little expensive, but we don’t regret it is was worth it, and we recommend it for all people which already went on it or not.

  • Hello blog,

So, this is the second part of our history.

We did the half way of our trip, we discovered a lot of amazing things between Illinois and Missouri, but it was only the beginning…

There’s still the most important part of Route 66, which contain beautiful historical and natural monument such as the incredible Grand Canyon or the strange Petrified forest.

Also, we go through famous cities like Tulsa, there, we went to many museum like the Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium, it was quite interesting and we learned a lot.

We stayed only few days in Tulsa, because, there isn’t a lot of things to see without museum. After that, w

Fe, there is the Wheelwright museum, but we didn’t go inside because it looks very boring. Moreover, in Santa Fe, there was a splendid panoramic view, it was very impressive, even in google images, we haven’t see that. It was beautiful.

  • I need to tell you my great experience on route 66 particularly in the Petrified Forest, it’s a national park in the state of Arizona and this site is remarkable for its concentration of fossilized tree trunks *because that was so amazing and beautiful to see. We went trough this Petrified Forest with our motor/home and at one moment we stopped to take pictures, video*, and *go outside the motor/home to take a break, after this little break we took our bike to *make a ride in the Petrified Forest and at the north of the Petrified For*st in the heart of the Painted Desert, we could see a pink edifice glimmering in the clear air. So after long hours of travel on Route 66 we saw a special place to take a break, stretch our legs, sip a cold drink, and admire the beautiful view. * Painted Desert Inn welcomed all * with an *air of hospitality . But at the south this is the Petrified Forest and we went there after this little ride on our bikes. There, have (?)  a excellent view for a lot of tree trunk* and it was beautiful.
